Zusammenfassung

Standortkonkurrenz, Globalisierung und die Öffnung Chinas tragen zum Wandel des Städtesystems Chinas und Ostasiens bei . Der einmalige Standortvorteil Hongkongs als Chinas Tor zur Welt weicht dabei einem multipolaren Muster, in dem mindestens drei chinesische Städte einen Weltstadtanspruch haben.

Dieser Artikel praesentiert ein Rollenspiel fuer die Sekundarstufe 2 oder die obere Sekundarstufe 1, in dem Schüler die jeweiligen Vorteile von Hongkong, Shanghai und Peking kennen lernen und  Standortentscheidungen multinationaler Konzerne simulieren. Sie agieren dabei in Gruppen als Vertreter der drei Staedte bzw. der Firmen Siemens, AXA, Ernst & Young und SAP und sollen geeignete Standorte fuer die Regionalzentralen dieser Firmen finden.

Hong Kong - Shanghai - Beijing. One country, three world cities.

  Abstract

Due to globalisation and the opening-up of China, t he urban system of China and East Asia is currently undergoing rapid changes. For Hong Kong, this development challenges its unique role as the gateway to China. In a multipolar urban system, there would be  at least three cities with world city status functioning as such gateways. 

This article presents a role play for the senior high school level. The students form groups representing the three cities Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing, and the multinational companies Siemens, AXA, Ernst & Young and  SAP. They simulate a hearing in which these four companies choose a suitable location for their regional headquarters.
