Professional experience
Started own company – Northern
Networks – in 1990.The company maintained sales and marketing
for book publishers, gift and stationery lines to the retail and
commercial market trade throughout the upper and lower peninsulas
of Michigan. Accounts included small independent gift shops and
chain stores including Spartan and Meijer. Northern Networks now
is mainly focused on free-lance journalism and occasional publicity
work. Publications
Author of Seasons of the Leelanau (1994), co-Author of The
Ride of Your Life (2001).
Freelance Journalist. Sandra’s articles and photographic
work have appeared in publications including The Detroit News, The Chicago Tribune, The Traverse
City Record-Eagle, The Oconto Press, The Business News, The Bay
Area Times, Families First, The Northern Express and The
ScuttleButt (of the Maritime
Heritage Alliance). Poet. Current projects
New, thoroughly revised version of Seasons
of the Leelanau; a book on
the maritime history of the Great Lakes; a book on wineries in Michigan.
Volunteer Background Publicity Director – 1996 and 1997 for
the Bay!Day! Festival held at the Northwestern Michigan
College Maritime Academy in Traverse City. 1993 to Present - prior
publicity for the Maritime Heritage Alliance. Volunteer for
many MHA activities. Founder and vice-president of the Fox Island
Lighthouse Association (FILA). Personal
Homemaker, mother of two sons; Forrest Anthony and Cameron William
Bradshaw.
