Tupolev Tu-95MS Bear-H

A brief view into the new Trumpeter Kit

The Kit looks rather good when still in the box, many nice details and recessed panel lines.

However the first thing which got my attention was the leading edge of the wing. Even though the Bears were fitted with a new wing starting with the Bear F version, the leading edge at the wing root is definitely too blunt.
I cut out the leading edge between the inner engine and the fuselage and fit in a new part. I think it looks much better.

When inserting the wing flaps, it widens the trailing edge of the wing by approx. 1mm.

Also the engines do not fit well to the wings. One has to insert a piece of 0.5mm plastic sheet, as well as some supports, in order to adjust both part to each other. Tough much filling will be necessary.

On the rear end of the engine nacelle also a 1.5mm gap occurs, but this can be closed by applying some pressure. (Will the joint be strong enough over the next few years?). Finally also the outer engines do not fit very well to the wing.
