| The year is quiet sad for us especially for Peter. Although the year
started quietly and as usual spent a week of skiing on February, this time
in Bivio, Graubuenden with our long time friends the family Beer. We had a
great time together as Jasmin joined us too the first 3 days but went home
limping as she hurt her leg being tangled with her snow board trying to get
on the ski lift. Middle of March P bought a 5 year old horse in PI for V so as to have one of her own to ride whenever in Cebu & was named Marsha. V was quiet proud about it although she hasn't seen it personally yet. End of March Neny & I flew to London for 4 days & stayed with cousin Marianne Veloso Duffy & family. We had a wonderful time together with them touring London City & visiting the Windsor Palace. We took the opportunity also to visit cousin Myrna Lozada Webb & family..a historical date March 30th the day the Queen Mom died. |

Beginning April while P & I were taking one of those bathtub
bath, we come to decide to have a Beach House constructed in Sayaw Beach at
tito Tony's lot to which he gave us the permission to construct months before.
Days later the money was sent to Bobby for the said project. Dodong Joseph
was to do the supervising. April 11, P's Mom died during a heart operation. It was quiet a schock for us as she said it was just a small routine operation & she'll be going home 2 days later. Peter took a week off to settle matters of the burial as his brother Alex & his wife were on vacation in Australia. Although I hate to leave P to his grief but I was already booked to join the Swiss Pilgrimage to Lourdes France from April 19-25 together with Grace Vetter a distant relative from Barili & a good friend of Neny's. It was an interesting religious trip, was just quiet tiresome the train travel of 15 hours. |

On May 1, the whole family, relatives & friends paid our last respects to Ruth Harder-Aepli died at the age of 70, she was quiet a good mother in law to me I could say. Middle of May construction of the beach house started, the telephone bills started to rise too. On the same month we got a visit from cousins Lydia, Jeanie & Jacqui from USA, Myrna from London & Vivian from Germany. The 5 sisters having a get together in Europe. June, the whole family were so thrilled that dodong Joseph's wife Luz & Noling's wife Jane passed the board exam & are now full pledged nurses. Congratulations! End of June, attended Elton John's concert in Zurich together with some friends. I find the concert in a way boring. July 18-21, we got visitors from Vancouver Canada, the Milton family. Together with Gina Tanner, we had some good times touring them to some parts of Switzerland. Too bad though, we still had to rent a car to tour them just like we did to the Lozada sisters. We simply need a 2nd car............ |

The Duffy's stayed for 10 days, first at my place, then at Rose & final stopover was at Neny's. We did have a great time with them too. |

| Just before the summer vacation finally ends, middle
of August, Rose, JR, Neny, Jeanine, Christine, V & I visited the Swiss
Expo '02 in Neuenburg & Biel & had such a good laugh & time together.
End of September, was admitted in Limmattal Hospital as the following day Oct. 1, was scheduled for an operation hysterectomy. Nothing serious though but the first 3 days after the operation was agonizing. Glad to be home after a week, the following 2 weeks was V's autumn vacation & was quiet glad to have her doing the household chores for me. November 18 P flew off to Cebu for a 3 weeks vacation, am sure he was only quiet eager to see the new beach house which is now on its finishing touches. He thus furnished the house while he was there to which am glad somehow We close the year with a longing to visit Cebu soonest. |
