FAMILY EVENTS YEAR 2003  (V_= Vanessa, P = Peter )

The year started in a bad mood. We received a letter from the Administrative Office of our Appartment charging Peter of doing things around the building to their disappointment. Peter in return wrote them back disagreeing saying to bring the case in court. It followed that they charged me unfairly as well. The truth is, Vanessa did make a short cut footpath to herself without our knowledge which resulted to damaging our neighbor’s garden. In the end we were able to settle it peacefully without having to pay a single cent for damages done. Because of this incident we came to know that the Building will soon be renovated & we knew as a result the rent will zoom up of course. Besides, Peter cannot stand any renovation as he is working graveyard shift too. Thus, we decided to look for a Condominium Unit, like this, it will come out cheaper for us than renting a new place. The 1st 2 weeks of February was spent hunting such in the Internet.

Vacation in Wengen (Berneroberland)
V and I took a one week break, went skiing with
Neni’s family in Wengen. On the last day V tried
snowboarding & had her 1st lessons on it.

Peter stayed home & spoiled himself by buying a
new Laptop & a Video Camera.

As soon as we came back from a wonderful sporty week,
Sunday February 23, drove around Furt Valley area to see
Condo Buildings under construction.
While I was in the middle of it, received a call from Bobby
that they just lost their residence and all their belongings through fire. Was really quiet a sad day for all of us.

4 days later, we were again happy as Dodong Joseph finally
received his Canadian working visa.
On March 5, after 4 weeks of intensive searching we finally found the new home we were looking for in Otelfingen, and made the deal right then and there. A very ideal place because not only it is nearer to Peter’s working place but I no longer have to pass the long Gubrist tunnel underneath Zurich City everytime I go to Neni’s place and at last no more rush hour traffic which we have to experience daily in Birmensdorf.

Second week of March, the Balkon construction, the last work in the beach house was finally done. March 23, Joseph our construction supervisor finally flew off to Vancouver, what a relief and such a good timing. Thank you Lord.

Vanessa and Sarah
April 12 Saturday attended Gary Valenciano’s Concert, was really entertaining, even Vanessa and Jasmin find him a very good
performer. Was a good show.

The following months was spent from appointment to another
choosing a new kitchen, bathroom and floor tiles for our new home.

Then on July 9, was an awaited moment. Peter, Vanessa, Sarah Baumgartner (V’s close friend) & I flew off to Cebu via Kuala
Lumpur aboard Malaysian Airlines. At last finally set foot to the
new Sayaw beach house, such a perfect location, truly beautiful.
After the town Fiesta July 26, the day after which is Sunday we had a Class 1976 Section A Reunion, a total of 16 Classmates came to attend. We had a good laugh, thanks to Nilo Dandan the policeman, the star of the show.  We all enjoyed our stay. We toured Bohol, went to Tanjay Negros to meet cousin Shirley from LA. Also met Susan Farrarons from Paris & cousin Nenette from Sacramento. Peter was soo happy as a week before his return home he was able to have his eyes laserd by Lasik Surgery at Cebu Doctors Hospital done by  Dr. Yong Larazabal. No more eyeglasses at last. What a memorable vacation.

Then back to reality & quiet hectic as we only had 2 weeks left to pack up our things.

September 1, the Big Moment, we finally received the Keys to our new home, we are now proud homeowners not only that but we really like our new place as it is now twice as big 120 sq.m. inside and a big balkon 23 sq.m.. Oh well, everything is perfect especially the kitchen, the oven turns on & off by itself as you can program it 24 hours. The cooking plates are just terrific, you can program it that the heat lowers down as soon as it boils so no more overflowings! Great eh?!

Busy buzy as a bee, setting up our new beautiful home. Thanks to Peter’s good friend Hans Bättig, he was such a big help. Without him, we couldn’t have done everything in a matter of 2 weeks! Peter did suffer afterwards, so Oct. 20 his right hand was operated as he got dumb feelings as a result of the hard work.

Nov. 8, took an exam in TELC (The European Language Certificate) for a German Lanquage Certificate but before that took 4 weeks classes in preparation for the exam and taraaaaah I passed! Dated December 4, 2003 with a good 88% passing grade.

Christmas was quiet, no more money. Bankrupt!
