The September 11 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and so on were wrong. They were crude acts of violence, brutality, carnage, and no matter how much the criminals who committed them justified it in their own minds, there was no justification for it. It was the biggest form of atrocity we've witnessed in recent history committed unfortunately in the name of god by a group of criminals. My condolences to the family of the victims, to the US and to the world.

Stars Pour in for N.Y. Benefit Concert

By NEKESA MUMBI MOODY, AP Music Writer

NEW YORK (AP) - Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Elton John, Billy Joel
joined other performers Saturday in a ``Concert for New York,'' which
served as a benefit for the city while celebrating its resiliency in a time of
                crisis.

Among the evening's most inspired performances included The Who, which energized the crowded with
renditions of hits such as ``Baba O'Riley,'' and ``Behind Blue Eyes,'' and Mick Jagger and Keith Richards,

who sang ``Salt of the Earth'' and ``Miss You.''

Paul McCartney was the night's final act. Wearing an American flag pin and T-shirt with ``FDNY'' printed
on the back, the former Beatle sang five songs, including ``Lover to a Friend,'' a new single he said would
raise money for the Sept. 11 Fund, ``Yesterday,'' and ``Freedom,'' which he wrote in the aftermath of the
World Trade Center attack. It's lyrics included the line, ``I will fight for the right to live in freedom.''

``This is one of the greatest nights for me,'' he told the crowd. ``I want to thank you guys for everything
you've done, on behalf of the British, on behalf of America, on behalf of the world.''

N.Y. Lottery Draws 9-1-1 on 9/11
Wed Sep 11, 2002 10:25 PM ET
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - On the first anniversary of the terrorist attacks, a date known as 9-11, the evening numbers drawn in the New York Lottery were 9-1-1.
"The numbers were picked in the standard random fashion using all the same protocols," said lottery spokeswoman Carolyn Hapeman. "It's just the way the numbers came up."
Lottery officials won't know until Thursday morning how many people played those numbers or the total payout, she said.
For the evening numbers game, the New York Lottery selects from balls numbered zero to nine circulating in a machine at the lottery office. Three levers are pressed, and three balls are randomly brought up into tubes and then displayed.

I'm ok. strange day... pictures passing my mind. pictures of moments I shared with people a year ago... and I feel not good that it happens on this
day. it shows me how much I'm fixed on dates as well... but the thing I'm feeling is... hmm... pain... I feel guilty... feel still ashamed of being a human being...
I'm praying every day that people start to realize that they only can find peace, happiness, love and freedom in themselves. Fighting or harming others
doesn't help. neither convincing them of ones own ideas. A group of people just seems stronger... hmm... I pray for more silence and thinking. and that
everybody starts to think less about their own lives... to see that there is just ONE WORLD...
I don't know but today I feel like crying... hmm... crying for the whole human race...
