Indonesia 2002 |
(booked by Tourasia, Wallisellen) |
| This is the
seventh visit in Indonesia. First a 5 day stopover in Singapore. This time we flew again
with Singapore Airlines. But nothing with the high level service on board. Why? Had the
crew only a bad day? Standing up this morning with the wrong leg? |
In Singapore we
will stayed at the Marriott hotel at the Orchard Road. |

We didn't have
big plans in Singapore. Looking around, shopping for us and friend, resting at the hotel
pool, perhaps a visit of Sentosa. |

I let made two pair of trouser from "my" tailor at the Far
East Shopping Center. He has his price, but in the past, the quality was always very high.
We get some silk scarves, some very cheap shirt at Crocodiles in the Centerpoint. Looking
for electronics, a MP3 Player we got at the Funan, and a 1GB IBM PC-Card Microdrive.
Nothing more. Everything is to expensive, mostly the prices are higher then at home. |

Don't forget,
that on these days, in Japan and South Korea the FIFA football Championship was running.
Fantastic fanatic are the Singaporeans. Special events, TV's at every corner, or wide
screens in the shopping centers, like in the Funan Shopping Center, or the hotels. It was
always easy to get the result of the matches. In the Lobby of our hotel was a timetable
and a scoring list. |
When you have an late afternoon or evening, use the MRT to Bugis and
stroll through the Market in the Albert Street. Don't miss the fresh fruit part at the
end. Perhaps you try some fresh durian ? But it must not look like a junkie, who gets his
next portion of whatever. But have a look, how they eat the durians.
Often you can find young artists with a performance. Ok, they have a "Magic
Hat", but when they are really good, why not spend a few Singapore Dollars. Or there
are other official events.
Eat at one of the Chinese Restaurant at the Albert Street inside the market or a few steps
after the market. |

One
day we took a taxi ride up to Mount Faber, then the Cable Cars via the World Trade Center
to Sentosa. And who has built the Cable Car ? Von Roll. Arriving on the Sentosa island,
you will be greeted by the fearful Sentosa Dragon. |

Explore
the island by the Monorail or by foot. But be carefull, the island looks so small, but a
half our walk from one attraction to the other is often required.
The Aquarium and the Orchid Garden is always a visit worth. And don't miss the Musical
Fountain after Sunset. Very impressive what can be done today with a little bit of water
and some lasers. |

With Silk Air we will fly from Singapore to Solo City or the old name
Surakarta, one of the old Kings town in Java. |
There we start a
tour with our friend Toni, the director of the High Touch Company in Kediri, to the South
Coast of Java, travelling east. We will stay in Kediri too, hope to visit Tonis company
and perhaps Gudang Garam too. Back to the South Coast again and travelling to the east,
til we arrive the ferry port to Bali. |
The first time,
we don't arrive in Bali by plane. |
We will stay
again at the Desa Segara Village, Jl. Segara Ayu Sanur, in the Sanur area for 9 nights. |
We have no
special plans for Bali, except a Rice Paddy Trecking, why not. |
Mostly we will
eat outside the Desa Segara Village. The restaurants at the Jl. Danau Tamblingan serve
Indonesian, Balinese or Asian food. |
It will be only
a short flight with Air Mark from Denpasar to Mataram, Lombok. |
We will stay
again at the Sheraton Senggigi, Jalan Raya Senggigi Km 8. |
We have no
special plans for Lombok. Perhaps a day at the beach in Kuta, a tour out to one of the
many islands. |
Too fast will it
be time to leave. First with SilkAir to Singapore and then at midnight with Singapore
Airlines back home. |
