Disclaimer: This is not the official site of the Polybahn. All information provided is correct to the best of my knowledge, but I cannot accept responsibility for any faults or omissions. Note especially that timetables and fares are liable to change, and that the Polybahn is occasionally closed down for maintenance.

The Polybahn operates throughout the year Monday - Friday (except public holidays) from 06:45 to 19:15.

Departures are every 2 to 3 minutes and the journey time is about 2 minutes.

The Polybahn is best reached by catching the tram to Central tram stop (routes 3, 4, 6, 7, 10 and 15 and trolleybuses 31 and 46). This tram stop is located on the other side of the Limmat river from the main station, and can also easily be reached on foot from there.

The entrance to the Polybahn is inside one of the buildings directly adjoining the tram stop (next to Starbuck's Coffee).

All ZVV tickets with zone 10 are valid (single tickets, day passes, tourist travel passes, season tickets etc.). Tickets can also be bought from a machine outside the Polybahn station or from the ZVV ticket office at the tram stop.

There are no ticket barriers, but you must be in posession of a vaild ticket to ride. Roving inspectors enforce this, and failure to produce a valid ticket on demand leads to a fine!

Weather and space permitting, the ride on the open balcony on the front of the car is recommended.

Once at the top, I recommend you turn right on leaving the Polybahn station and walk onto the Polyterrasse in front of the ETH (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) to enjoy the view of Züich.

Enjoy your ride!
