Available (50cl Trüebe, 29cl Alt) Unusual pub in a basement, nice place but it could be improved; 2 draught beers, too much light in flavour. No food.

   Opened since beginning 2002, just behind the main railway station (Cornavin), this brewpub offers typical dishes, Italian food and 3 pleasant beers (better than the nearby Les Brasseurs, of course), still to improve, but already interesting; thanks to Enza for her availability. Open everyday, 10.00-2.00.

 No Opened feb 2000 (?), run by scottish Martin Riley, it's a restaurant serving also asian food. When we visited it, we could appreciate just one beer, a lightly smoked one; look for  the tasting notes.

  Open since October 2000, in the fun center, just 30 Km from Lausanne. They're three light beers are getting better; last time I was there, the hop aftertaste was nice, but the aroma was missing, and the wheat beer has still to be improved. Coaster.

No Small brewery, since sept. 2001, opened in a pizzeria/restaurant. They brew under a Czech recipe, using liquid malt extract, dry malt extract for the wheat beer and Saaz hops. 7.00-24.00, closed Sunday and holidays. =>Beers.

 Available (5 litres keg) Opened since 1999. Very nice place, warm, much wood, you must visit! Three beers, ordinary; one is a bit hoppy, another is malty. Coaster.=>Beers.

Live music on Saturdays. Thanks to Pierre who introduced me to the brewery even if it was closed; I hope to spend some more time soon, tasting their beers.  Available (2 litres at 38.50/deposit + 12.50/refill CHF; Pilatus at 4.40 CHF/33cl) Wonderful old building in the heart of the town, with stone walls and vault roof, but a bit cold inside; good beers, well hopped; quite expensive (3.60 CHF for 2dl of beer and 21 CHF for plastic cheese and farm bacon).

 Available (5 litres keg) Opened since 1999. British pub style, lively (karaoke,...); food only al lunchtime. The beers are not so much fragrant, not so much hopped, they're quite sweet and smooth. The bartenders are very kind, and willing to show the brewing process (not at prime time, please). Coaster.

 Available (2 litres at 20-/deposit + 12-/refill CHF) A brewery into a youth hostel, near the lake shore between Nidau and Bienne. Actually they brew wonderful lager beers, with very good aromatic hop character. 11.00-23.30, closed Tuesday.

Typical 2 liters (also 1 or even 3 liters) bottle in Belgium and Germany. Often you can buy not-pasteurized beer, directly from the brewery. You may pay 15 to 35 CHF for the bottle (deposit).
