Rally Speedway

One of the first racing game was Rally Speedway written by John Anderson in 1984. You race alone or against a second player. You can design your own race tracks with the built in editor. The game is very fast and really funny, because you can push each other off the road so you crash.

Pitstop 2

After Pitstop 1, EPYX released 1984 their second Formula One racing game. You can drive alone against a computer driver or against a second player, both in a really fast split screen graphic.

The game contains six original race tracks. The tyres will blow if you drive too much on the curbs, but you can drive into the pits to change them and refuel.

Test Drive 2 - The Duel

Test Drive - still today a common game. Test Drive 1 and 2 were available for the C64. The Duel - that was the duel between the Porsche 959 and the Ferrari F40. Additional cars were also available.

You race trough different sceneries, against the clock or a computer player. The graphics are good, but not very fast.

Grand Prix Circuit

A well simulated, fast graphics Formula One racing game? Accolade made it possible in 1988. The game features nice graphics and great sound with digitized drums, three different cars and eight race tracks.
