Taxis in Thailand
Taxis Bangkok may arguable have more
taxis than any city on Earth. Not only
are they plentiful, they are very
reasonably price. Hiring a taxi to take
you from Bangkok to a resort town such
as Pattaya or Hua Hin is another way to
save time on a shorter holiday,
particularly if you’re not traveling far
enough to warrant a flight. Though far
more expensive than taking the bus,
taxis are nevertheless cheap by western
standards and offer the convenience of
door-to-door service.
Tuk Tuks
Tuk tuks One of the most economic modes
of transportation, the tuk tuk is a truly Thai vehicle. The colorful,
noisy, open-air tuk tuks that are found throughout Bangkok are both a “must
ride” experience for visitors and a convenient way for both visitors and locals
to quickly travel around.
Motorbike Taxi
Great for short distances and available at virtually all hours
of the day and night. Look out for "motorbike taxi stands" - groups of
motorcyclists on street corners, outside convenience or department stores, or
just cruising the streets. They wear red or green vests and will take you
anywhere. Do negotiate the price before you get on. Fares depend on the distance
