Rita thought of using a rose arch to delimit the sitting place from the path which leads down to the back of the house. We didn't like most of the factory made arches and the few we liked were too expensive for us (as usual). Rita decided to make one herself. You can see the result in these pictures. Of course the roses and clematis will take time to creep up to the top of the arch. There is also another path leaving the sitting place on the side of the glass house. This path leads to the lower part of our property, near the road. Even between the sitting place and this path Rita wants to make an arch. We hope before summer 2000 it will be realized.

The house you see behind the arch belongs to Rita's parents. They bought the land just beside ours. Since we didn't want to cut the land in two parts, which also would make it look much smaller than it is, we didn't make a strong delimitation such as a big hedge between theirs and our garden. (See lower picture)

The picture on the left is a view from Rita's parents house balcony. Here you see also a very interesting secondary path which main purpose is to make Rita access the part of garden under the Rhododendrons.
This path was made completely by Rita in a few days.

On the right is a view from the vegetable garden . You can (hardly) see the path to the arch and sitting place. We hope we can show you this spring / summer better pictures.
