This page shows how the garden looked when we bought the house in September 97. These pictures were taken in spring 98 after we cut a few trees from our wood in order to have some light in the garden.
In the garden pages (see the links on the right) we document the exiting progress of our garden to a goal which nobody knows.
Up to 1998 didn't have any experience in gardening, but she promised she would do her best to make something about it.
Plans by garden-architect Rita Rai :
  • Sitting place in front of the house (instead of grass; see the two lower photos)
    • Circular place with cubes of granite in two colours (gray and red)
    • Build an interface to the stairs going down to the lower lawn (arch)
    • move the stairs about a meter away from the house so the plants have more space
  • Change the landscape on the upper Lawn (see top 2 photos):
    • small grass lawn near the house
    • playground for Lorenzo near the house
    • big circular grill place with table and pergola (all in granite from Ticino)
    • large way to the grill place
    • big pond with a 7 meters long stream
    • way up to the meditation place (top point of the upper lawn, half in the woods)

  • Drying area on the back part of the house
  • Several stone paths
  • Everywhere new plantation
