Storm Lothar has done lots of damages in the region of Arth and Goldau. Several houses were pretty badly damaged as well as the forests.

The roof of our house was also quite hardly damaged. This is not a surprise because:

it is an old house

the house is situated in a place where it is exponed to the winds (northen and southern)

The big surprise was that mainly new parts which were rebuilt two years ago got damaged. I suppose it was just luck that the newly rebuilt top floor (under the roof) did not have a total water damage.

Actualy at first I did not think we had a big damage, but as soon as the architect listed the damages, I had to realise we had something serious.

My insurance, the Zurich Insurance, was immeadiately contacted from me and my architect . They visited our house and we all agreed on what was going to be paid.

The roof had to be redone.
